Tried to launch before high tide, but impassable shorebreak. Returned near Hotpipes from 4ish til half six. 4.5m ezzy about right to cope with the windy bits and still nice on the waves. Really enjoyed it, had a good few longer rides wiggling my way down the inside wave, just kept staying open for more. It was best to start with and wish I could have been there a bit sooner. Wind eased at 6pm but filled back in big time. Feeling thrashed now so a good core workout, I think the slight offshore thing means you have to really hunker down as you head out to sea to grab a gust and get planing without getting ripped over the front. feels good.
